GENEVA — Emergency personnel responded to the Geneva Sunoco gas station after receiving a report of a car on fire shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
No injuries were reported after the 1997 Chrysler Sebring owned by Christine M. Bennett, 47, of 17571 State Route 12E, Dexter, caught on fire while in the gas station's parking lot, according to Ontario County sheriff's deputies.
The fire was quickly extinguished by members of The Oaks Corners Fire Department.
The vehicle suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene, deputies said.
The blaze appeared to have started in the engine compartment and was not considered suspicious.
