Churchville Elementary teacher Andrea Lynch recently received a professional development scholarship from the science, technology, engineering and math curriculum Engineering is Elementary, a project of the Museum of Science, Boston.
This award, given to teachers in high need schools, includes tuition and travel to attend a two-day EiE professional development workshop at the Museum of Science, Boston and a complete set of EiE curriculum materials.
Only 100 teachers in the country were selected for the scholarship. Lynch will travel to Boston on March 10 for training.
“Engineering is Elementary is an inquiry-based STEM curriculum that can help students develop lifelong skills of thinking and reasoning based on the engineering design process,” Lynch said. “Through this program, I am excited to help teachers show students how to solve problems systematically — creating skills, optimism and attitudes that are important for their future.”
