Penfield resident receives Attorney of the Year Award
Mary Jo Korona, of Penfield, was recently selected to receive an Attorney of the Year Award from the Daily Record for her work.
Korona, a founding partner of Leclair Korona Vahey Cole in Rochester, worked 25 years in business litigation. Her practice focuses on commercial matters, such as contract claims and disputes, partnerships and limited liability companies, buyouts, dissolutions and breaches of fiduciary duties and employment covenants.
The award honors attorneys through the Leaders in Law Award, which is presented to those who demonstrate professional accomplishment, exceptional character, integrity and ethics and commitment to their clients and the community. Recipients will receive their awards Nov. 10 at the Hyatt Regency Rochester and will be featured in the Nov. 11 issue of the Daily Record.
Penfield resident named Merton Williams Middle School assistant principal
The Hilton Central School District recently appointed Ashley Socola, of Penfield, as assistant principal at Merton Williams Middle School.
Socola previously worked in the Penfield Central School District as an administrative intern at Penfield High School, Bay Trail Middle School and Harris Hill Elementary School. She has worked as a classroom teacher at Harris Hill Elementary School.
Socola received graduate certification in K-12 School Leadership from the University of Rochester, a graduate degree in childhood education and an undergraduate degree in communication and rhetorical studies from Syracuse University.
