Chabad-Lubavitch of Pittsford and the Jewish Community Center will host Loaves of Love III, a multi-generational challah bake, at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the JCC, 1200 Edgewood Ave., Rochester. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Participants will learn about the meaning of challah and bake two loaves — one to keep and one to share.
“Baking challah is a sacred ritual where one separates a portion of dough to dedicate to God, acknowledging that our material sustenance comes from above,” said Rishi Hein, head of Chabad-Lubavitch of Pittsford Jewish Women’s Circle. “In the Torah, women have been gifted with the privilege of performing this ritual.”
To request gluten free ingredients, include a note on the registration page.
Cost is $18 per person; sponsorships are available.
