Gates Recreation and Parks will host two sessions of its gentle yoga program from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays starting Nov. 8 through Dec. 27 and 10 to 11:15 a.m. Thursdays starting Nov. 10 through Dec. 22 at the Gates Community Center, 1605 Buffalo Road, Rochester.
No experience is necessary. The class encourages participants to use gentle postures and simple breathing techniques to become consciously aware of the body and to relax and sink into the present moment. Jill FitzSimmons, a certified Kripalu yoga instructor, will lead the classes.
