Grande’Vie recently celebrated the 100th birthday of resident Norma Alsdorf.
Alsdorf, who has been a part of the community for over two years, found herself surrounded by family and friends and received gifts and cake.
Over 35 residents and staff were in attendance to help Alsdorf ring in her 100th year.
“She was very excited about turning 100 years young,” Grande’Vie Activities Director Theresa Emler said. “Norma was so touched with her surprise party and very grateful to the Grande’Vie staff that gave her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and personal gifts from the residents.”
Some of those gifts included a new set of pajamas, hand and body lotions and a stuffed animal.
“Norma is an absolute sweetheart and is always concerned about others before herself,” Caring House Coordinator Monica Costanzo said.
“Norma is the most kind and caring person,” Emler said.
“Exercise, just be yourself and don’t worry about anything,” Alsdorf said when asked how she got to her 100th year.
“I think that really rings true for Norma, as she is always saying how she wants everyone to know who she really is,” Costanzo said.
