Henderson Ford is encouraging the community to place shelved books into the hands of local youth through Sept. 15.
Ford F-150 Pick-Ups, will “pick up’” new and used books and deliver them to the students of Rochester City School 50, Helen Barrett Montgomery.
Books should be appropriate for grades pre-K through eight, ages 5-14.
“This is the seventh year of our annual book collection,” said Henderson Ford President Randy Henderson. “Each year we are inspired by the community’s generosity, totaling over 10,000 books collected to date. We hope to top last year’s collection total with your help, which totaled 1,176 books. All of us have books sitting on shelves or in boxes in our garages, basements and attics. Our annual book drive is a reminder to draw our attention to these unused resources, which we can easily turn into valuable tools to stimulate learning and enjoyment.”
To assist with the book drive efforts, new or used literature can be dropped off at Henderson Ford, 810 Ridge Road, Webster; Steinmiller Insurance, 1223 Bay Road, Webster; A Different Point of View, 2920 Monroe Ave., Pittsford; Edge Advertising Group, 6 N. Main St., Fairport; Omero’s Custom Ltd., Greece; and Webster Chamber Health Insurance Service, 1110 Crosspointe Lane.
