The 28th annual St. John’s Golf Tournament was held July 17 at MidVale Country Club and raised nearly $80,000.
Proceeds will be used to provide care and programs for residents at all four of St. John’s living communities — St. John’s Home in Rochester, St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s in Brighton and the St. John’s Green House Homes in Penfield.
Nearly 150 golfers, volunteers and friends of St. John’s were in attendance for the day, which included 18 holes of golf, golf-related contests, lunch, dinner, raffles, and a silent auction. Sharon Brognia and Tom Donaloio co-chaired this year’s event.
The team of Rich Baker, Pete Stoller, Jay Baker and RG Stockmeister finished with the day’s low score of 60, followed by the foursome of Jim Gould, Andrew Kay, Mark Pautler and Charlie Runyon with 61.
Contest winners were: closest to the pin, fourth hole, John Klatte; closest to the pin, ninth hole, Gary Babbitt; longest drive, men, Eric Koehler; longest drive, women, Corinne Price; closest to the line, John Dredger; putting, Tony Brognia; and skins, Gary Babbitt, Louis Camarella, Steve Gersz and Paul Keneally.
