Since Town Hall has moved to the Van Ingen Court Building, some residents have stopped me to ask, “where is that building?” The building is right behind the current Town Hall, and it is the building with the blue roof. All functions of town government that where in the Town Hall are located in the “building with the blue roof.”
While we are at the court building for the next three months, we will continue to keep residents informed about the town in many different media aspects like our Town Times, which is scheduled to come out in early September, and my weekly columns in the Webster Herald and Webster Post. The library, parks and recreation, police and town hall all have Facebook and Twitter accounts, which also communicate with town residents on a variety of topics.
I also conduct electronic town meetings on Cable Channel 12 the second Wednesdays of each month. These meetings feature town employees and volunteers describing their jobs to town residents. At the end of the program, there is a call-in opportunity for town residents to ask any questions about your town government.
Webster town board meets every month on the first and third Thursdays to discuss town business. There is a segment during each meeting where town residents can address the town board during the open to the floor portion of the meeting. At the end of each meeting, there is also a call-in session where Webster residents can, once again, call in to the town board and ask any member of board questions about town government or something that might be happening in their neighborhood.
You can also contact me by going to the town of Webster web site,, and click on contact the supervisor, and I will reply to you email question as soon as possible. You may also call me at 585- 872-7068, leave me a message if I’m not in the office at that time or you can talk to my assistant, PattiAnn. She can try to direct your question or maybe even schedule an appointment if that is needed.
The town of Webster also televises the planning board meeting and zoning board of appeals meetings Tuesday nights on Cable Channel 12 at 7 p.m. Not many towns in Monroe County do this, but this town board feels like the more information we can give our residents, the better informed they will be about their town government and the actions being taken here in Webster.
One thing I do not have is a personal Facebook account. Personally, I do not want one as I feel that there are numerous ways for the community to contact me. I do not find the need to share my picture, my wife’s picture, my kids, grandkids and other activities of my life with others at this time in my life. There are many, like my two daughters, who enjoy that interaction on Facebook and other social media sites, but it is not something I am going to entertain doing at this time. I hope everyone understands that you can communicate with me, your town supervisor, in many other ways other than a personal Facebook account as I have described above. If you can think of any other way you would like us to communicate with you please, please contact me and we will take it into consideration.
As always, if you have any questions about your town government, please feel free to contact me during regular business hours at 585-872-7068 or email me anytime at
