International cycling will return Aug. 19 to downtown Rochester with Rochester Twilight Criterium.
The Rochester Criterium has been placed on USA Cycling’s Professional Road Tour, and will be the only pro road race in the U.S. that weekend. The event will be live-streamed worldwide via FloCyclingTV.
Amateur and professional athletes will compete in separate 1-mile sprints on the same course as the cyclists during the Rochester Mile. The fastest male and female runners will compete for a $2,500 purse.
Criterium courses are designed on city-center streets and staged on spectator-friendly course loops typically 1 mile in length.
The Rochester Gran Fondo will also return, with 100 percent of proceeds going directly to Golisano Children’s Hospital.
