Penfield Business Chamber named Better Homes and Gardens Prosperity Real Estate, 2494 Browncroft Blvd., Rochester, as its Business of the Month for August 2017.
Danielle Riley, president and CEO, opened the office in August 2016. She employs 13 Realtors and two employees.
Dennis Shew, associate broker, has been a PBC member since 2004, serving on the board of directors for six years and as vice president for four years.
The company may open offices in Europe and Australia. Riley said her business’ primary function is to help people buy and sell real estate. Her employees are not facilitators; they guide buyers and sellers through the whole process.
Riley said she likes being partnered with Better Homes and Gardens, because its brand recognition is 97 percent of business. It’s what she likes best about owning her own business.
Realogy owns Better Homes and Gardens, Coldwell Banker, Century 21 and other national firms. It has a 100-year licensing agreement to use the name.
Riley learned how to read and write by helping her father in his real estate business since she was 2. She regularly goes to Albany and Washington, D.C., to fight for homeowners on national and local committees. She also participates in her local neighborhood association.
“Our brokers live everywhere in Monroe, Wayne and Ontario counties, and they all are very involved in their communities in some way,” Riley said.
Riley selected the office’s location because 500,000 people drive past the corner every day, it is close to the expressways and the building didn’t need major renovations. She said she likes that Penfield is one of Rochester’s less congested suburbs.
