The Digital Bookmobile will make a stop on its national tour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 11 at Greece Town Hall, 1 Vince Tofany Blvd., Rochester.
The newly updated mobile exhibit will provide an interactive experience for readers of all ages to explore e-books and audiobooks available at Greece Public Library. Visitors will learn how to borrow digital books, explore various devices in the Gadget Gallery and talk with e-reading librarian experts. Tours are free and open to the community.
“I’m very excited that Greece was chosen as a stop on the digital bookmobile tour,” Reilich said. “Over 40,000 e-books and audiobooks were checked out from our library during the first six months of this year, a 17 percent increase over the first six months of 2016. Having the digital bookmobile visit will allow even more residents to learn about this popular service.”
The 42-foot long toterhome is equipped with broadband, internet-connected PCs, free Wi-Fi connection, touchscreen monitors, sound systems and various portable media players, all of which help visitors explore Greece Public Library’s digital service.
In the Gadget Gallery, readers will explore popular devices such as iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Chromebook and Kindle. Interactive learning stations encourage visitors to search the library’s digital media collection and go through the borrowing process. Beginners will get a tutorial from technical experts.
