Students from Gates Presbyterian Youth Group recently hosted the Summer Fun Carnival for Seniors at The Episcopal Church Home in Rochester.
The carnival featured games with prizes, a petting zoo, musical entertainment and refreshments for those who live within Episcopal SeniorLife Communities’ campuses.
The students were in grades 6-8 from Gates Chili, Churchville-Chili, Spencerport, Brockport and Henrietta school districts along with homeschooled families. They were in charge of setting up and running the carnival games.
“It was wonderful to have these students back again this year to make a difference in the lives of our residents,” said Keri Cuyler, director of therapeutic recreation at The Episcopal Church Home. “The residents truly enjoy being around them and always look forward to the summer carnival.”
This is the sixth year that Gates Presbyterian Youth Group has assisted with the summer carnival. It is part of the group’s annual weeklong summer outreach project.
