James Pistell, of Rochester, recently became one of the first residents to earn Facebook Blueprint Buying Professional Certification, earning him a spotlight post on the social media company’s account page.
Pistell is a full-time technical marketer for YPC Media and an active-duty cavalry scout with New York Army National Guard.
“James only started with YPC Media back in January, so I wasn’t very familiar with his work or professional capabilities,” said Michael Pavone, CEO of YPC Media. “It didn’t take long for him to prove that he knows what he’s doing, especially when it comes to Facebook advertising, which is very important to our online business. I trust James to lead us in developing this part of our business for YPC Media.”
Pistell completed the program’s required hours and exam to earn the advanced-level distinction certification.
“There was so much more to it than I thought,” Pistell said. “It wasn’t just about Facebook, but about how they integrate their product with all types of media and marketing objectives. I’m better off, and so is my company, for it.”
Facebook featured Pistell’s achievement in a July 25 post to promote the certification program.
“This certification sets our company and myself apart in an extremely competitive environment,” Pistell said. “Our CEO at YPC Media understands the power of Facebook, and has given me total authority to create a marketing campaign for our call center to create a new inbound sales stream. Getting certified was a way for me to communicate with management that I know what I am talking about. Once I became certified, some of the higher-ups started taking my advice more seriously.”
