Ryan Colvin, president of MRB Group, recently announced the addition of Harrison Schutzer to the engineering and architecture firm in Rochester.
Schutzer’s new role will serve as a resource for the 120 client communities served by the firm.
With a principal focus on municipal services, MRB Group provides local governments with professional engineering support for day-to-day operations, including water and wastewater treatment and public works services. Its design team helps local governments maintain or rehabilitate public assets, such as courts, municipal offices and highway facilities.
The firm has served Greater Rochester and central New York for 90 years.
Schutzer, a public policy and political science major from Hobart College, previously worked as deputy communications director and legislative aide to members of the New York State Senate, most recently assisting State Sen. Simcha Felder, D-17th District.
Colvin said Schutzer’s strength is his ability to identify issues and resolve problems for constituents.
“Engineering, architecture and all the various municipal services MRB Group provides require interaction with the state at many levels,” Colvin said. “Whether our clients need help expediting regulatory approvals or seeking out grants and funding opportunities, we’ve built a professional staff with tremendous experience in dealing directly with the agencies and resources that count. Harrison’s strong background in constituent services and government administration will be extremely beneficial in supporting the MRB Group team as we advocate for clients.”
Schutzer will join the business development team in Rochester, and work directly with clients to support municipal services provided by the firm.
“It has been my pleasure to work with local government officials who work hard to serve their communities in an effort to make a difference,” Schutzer said. “I look forward to continuing to support those efforts as part of the MRB Group team.”
