We are pleased to announce that Monroe County Legislature recently approved the annual community development block grants for the town of Chili.
These grants allow our communities to receive various allocations from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The CDBG program began nearly 40 years ago, and is one of the longest continually run programs by HUD. Each year, the CDBG program helps communities fund local projects in areas of their towns that would benefit most from the grants.
We are thrilled to share with you a project in our community that has been awarded this special funding.
In the town of Chili, we received $57,000 for the Paul Road Sidewalk Extension project. This project includes the installation of a new sidewalk from Stal Mar Circle to Archer Road. It also includes a needed Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant connection for pedestrians who want to travel through this neighborhood using the sidewalk.
As the county representatives for the town of Chili, we believe this important project will improve our community so that our town may be enjoyed by all who live and work here. We encourage anyone with questions, comments or concerns to contact us by phone at 585-753-1922 or by email at monroe3@monroecounty.gov or monroe12@monroecounty.gov.
