Gates Chili Chamber of Commerce will recognize Colony Dry Cleaners with its Business in the Spotlight Award during the State of the State Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at The Legacy at Parklands, 2000 Park Creek Lane, Churchville.
State Sen. Joe Robach, R-56th District, and State Sen. Mike Ranzenhofer, R-61st District, will speak at the luncheon.
Gates Chili Chamber will honor Colony Dry Cleaner’s contribution to the economic vibrancy of the community, community involvement, special achievements, growth and success and job creation.
The quarterly award requires an in-depth nomination, interview and judging process. Companies are critiqued on several levels, including contribution to the local economy and community, success, longevity, growth of the company and unique approach to the industry.
“We are pleased to be presenting Colony Cleaners with this award,”said Carla Vazquez, award committee chairman. “Colony Cleaners contributes to the local economic impact in Gates, currently has 19 employees and expects continued growth in their pickup/delivery and industrial laundry service areas.”
Colony Dry Cleaners, 695 Howard Road, Rochester, has been in the town of Gates since 1969. Its current owner, Steve Tucciarello, took over the business in 1998. The company’s primary business is providing dry cleaning services, specializing in wedding gown preservation and restoration as well as home and office dry cleaning pickup and delivery services.
From a community perspective, Colony Dry Cleaners is heavily involved in causes that support children in the town of Gates, including Hope Hall and local children’s sports teams.
