Geva Theatre Center, 75 Woodbury Blvd., Rochester, will celebrate its production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights” with a reading of Broadway’s first “Hamilton” by Mary Hamlin, of West Bloomfield, at 7 p.m. Sept. 25.
The reading will feature “In the Heights” cast members, and is underwritten by Hamlin’s grandson, George Hamlin IV.
Hamlin’s “Hamilton” premiered in 1917 at Knickerbocker Theatre in New York City. It tells the story of a country struggling to define itself in its newly won independence.
