Police say 48-year-old Derrick Taylor was arrested just after 1:20 a.m. Friday morning. According to police, Taylor broke into the home through a window and got into a fight with the tenant. Taylor is accused of choking and injuring the tenant during the fight.

A Seneca Falls man is facing charges after police say he broke into a home and choked the tenant.

Police say 48-year-old Derrick Taylor was arrested just after 1:20 a.m. Friday morning. According to police, Taylor broke into the home through a window and got into a fight with the tenant. Taylor is accused of choking and injuring the tenant during the fight.

Taylor now faces charges of second degree criminal trespass, second degree criminal mischief, third degree assault, and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. All of these charges are misdemeanors.

Police say he was arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court, and sent to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash. He is expected back in court on October 5.
