As your representatives in the Monroe County Legislature, we are proud to announce that on June 13, 2017, the legislature approved the annual community development block grants for the town of Gates.
These grants are designed to fund neighborhood projects, Americans with Disabilities Act improvements to public facilities, economic development activities and homeless services. Each year, the awards these grants to municipalities to improve areas of their communities that need it the most. The CDBG program began 38 years ago, and is one of the longest continually run programs by HUD.
We are proud to share with you the following project that has received funding this year.
The town of Gates was awarded $35,000 for a road gutter replacement project. Concrete roadside gutters on Pilot Street will be replaced to allow for proper drainage of stormwater into the storm sewer system.
As residents and representatives for the town of Gates, we are pleased that the County Legislature has approved the annual CDBG. We believe this project will improve our community so that our town may be enjoyed by those who live, work and travel here.
