Screen Plays — Hollywood’s Golden Age on Stage will present “Meet Me in St. Louis” on Dec. 1-17 at The Lyric Theatre, 440 East Ave., Rochester.
Adapted by Joe Landy, the Judy Garland musical follows the four Smith daughters as they come of age in the year leading up to the 1904 World’s Fair. Notable songs include “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “The Trolley Song” and “The Boy Next Door.”
The production is being staged as an on-air 1940s broadcast from Rochester’s local radio station. It will feature direction by Karen Tuccio, musical direction by Judith Ranaletta and live piano accompaniment by Larry Neeck. Vintage equipment will be employed for sound effects.
