Glenmere Assisted Living & Memory Care at Cloverwood, part of the Friendly Senior Living continuum, recently hosted its bi-annual resident art show displaying art by seniors.
Through the program, instructors help residents choose photos for inspiration and do a light sketch with them. Residents then choose the colors and paint their own pictures.
“In addition to learning new creative skills, the social interactions and peer relationships formed in the Art at the Young at Heart classes are important benefits of the program,” said Kristen Paruta, activities coordinator. “Glenmere’s Art for the Young at Heart program shows that it is never too late to be inspired and get creative.”
