Rochester Museum & Science Center will exhibit “Take It Down! Organizing Against Racism” through Jan. 26 at Phillis Wheatley Community Library, 33 Dr. Samuel McCree Way, Rochester.
A panel featuring racist artwork was removed in 2016 from the Dentzel Carousel at Ontario Beach Park in Rochester after being on display for 111 years. The issue generated controversy in the community, and the Take It Down Planning Committee created this exhibit to create meaningful and sustained dialogue and action regarding individual, institutional and structural racism.
The exhibit is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays-Fridays and some Saturdays. Visit rmsc.org for information.
