On National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, communities all across the country show their support by wearing blue clothing, thanking officers when you see them, taking treats to local departments, and lighting up neighborhoods with blue lights.

Tuesday is a day to honor all members of law enforcement who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

The Gates Town Hall will hold a ceremony at 3 p.m. Tuesday to show officers appreciation.

Last year, 128 officers were killed in the line of duty across the country.
