Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will reveal its 2018-19 season during its fourth annual season preview concert at 7 p.m. on Jan. 30 in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre, 26 Gibbs St., Rochester.
Ward Stare, music director, and Jeff Tyzik, principal pops conductor, will serve as masters of ceremonies as the orchestra plays excerpts from its upcoming season that opens in September.
“This is a wonderful event for the RPO and the community,” said Stare, who originated the live preview concerts in 2015 during his first year as music director. “Jeff and I had a blast co-hosting last year, and I’m thrilled to share the stage with him again.”
Stare and Tyzik will share their philharmonics and pops picks as well as the 96th season’s special concerts and guest artists. Sunday Matinee and OrKIDStra programming will be announced.
Admission is free, but advance tickets are required. Reservations are available by phone and at the RPO Patron Services Center, 108 East Ave., Rochester.
“Ward and I can’t wait to share our excitement about next season in this informal, fun concert, where we turn Kodak Hall into our ‘living room’ for the evening,” said Tyzik, who will celebrate his 25th anniversary with the RPO in 2018-19.
Subscription packages will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Jan. 31. Subscribers have access to various options and price points, and are guaranteed low ticket prices, preferred seats, free ticket exchange privileges and priority access to special concerts. Single tickets will go on sale in July.
