Jazz90.1 WGMC and Hurlbut Care Communities will host Glenn Miller Orchestra for a Valentine’s Day show at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 in the Greece Central Performing Arts Center at Greece Athena High School, 800 Long Pond Road, Rochester.
Glenn Miller Orchestra performs big-band hits from the war era, including “In the Mood,” “String of Pearls,” “Pennsylvania 6-5000” and “Moonlight Serenade.” It performs under the director of Nick Hilscher. Its roster includes ties to western New York and Eastman School of Music with Erik Stabnau on saxophone, Brendan Lanighan on trombone and Al Piela on trumpet.
Greece Athena High School Jazz Band will perform as guests arrive, starting at 6:45 p.m.
Tickets cost $25 for the general public; $20 for seniors ages 60 and older, students with ID and armed forces/veterans; and free for ages 9 and younger.
Free parking is available. Guests are encouraged to arrive early since general seating will be available on a first come, first served basis.
