A Webster native advanced passed the blind audition round on NBC’s “The Voice” on Monday night. Austin Giorgio performed the Marvin Gaye and James Taylor song "How Sweet It Is."

During the show, Giorgio said his dad got him into jazz. He called his father his inspiration, which his father said nearly brought him to tears.

Both Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton were impressed. In the end, Giorgio chose to join Team Blake.

News10NBC spoke with Giorgio on Monday night.

"I'm trying to go into my own chapter of combining Drake and Sinatra, and that's where I wanna go," he said.

The blind auditions continue Tuesday at 8 p.m. on News10NBC.
