Passero Associates promotes Chili resident
Passero Associates recently promoted Tim Harris, of Chili, to senior project engineer in the civil engineering department.
Harris has over 10 years of experience in various aspects of engineering design on municipal, commercial, private and institutional projects, including obtaining municipal and other agency approvals and permits.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering technology from Rochester Institute of Technology. Harris is a volunteer firefighter.
Aquinas Institute student earns Ontario Honda Scholarship
Aquinas Institute senior Daniel DeBonis, of Greece, recently received an Ontario Honda Scholarship.
The scholarship program awards $1,000 to two graduating seniors who participated in the Section V football or cheerleading programs at their school. Recipients demonstrate great effort for the good of their team, show dedication to academics and continually show great sportsmanship.
DeBonis played on the football team for three years. He helped his team to a state championship title during the 2015 season, and served as team captain in 2017. Off the field, DeBonis used his leadership skills to complete more than 100 hours of community service throughout his high school career at Foodlink, Cameron Ministries, Special Olympics, St. Pius X Church, CDS Monarch and Camp Good Days. He demonstrates dedication in the classroom with a 92.8 GPA.
Greece Arcadia bowler competes at state championships
Varsity bowler Owen King, of Greece Arcadia High School, recently bowled for the Section V composite team at the state championships in Syracuse.
King helped pace Section V to a second-place finish, falling 38 pins short of first place. It is was the highest finish ever for a boys team in the composite division. Section V was in first place after the first set of games by six pins.
King bowled games of 202, 197,175, 212, 171 and 193 on a difficult lane pattern. He finished 11th overall out of 66 bowlers, averaging 191.66 for the tournament.
