Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. The worldwide competition in which teams of students are presented with “problems” which they must solve in positive and creative ways. Each team must create every part of its “solution” by writing a unique script, building sets, creating props and designing costumes. Also at the competition, the teams are given an on-the-spot “spontaneous” problem to solve. The combination of long-term problem-solving, style/creativity, and spontaneous problem-solving produces a confident, able student.
