Deputies responded to the Log Cabin Restaurant in the town of Pembroke for a report of shots being fired inside and outside the restaurant around 11 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators say the suspect pointed his gun at a deputy in the parking lot and did not drop his weapon. The suspect was then shot and killed by the deputy.

A man is dead after a police-involved shooting in the town of Pembroke in Genesee County.

Deputies responded to the Log Cabin Restaurant on Gilmore Road for a report of shots being fired inside and outside the restaurant around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

Investigators say the suspect pointed his gun at a deputy in the parking lot. The suspect did not cooperate with authorities when he was asked to drop his weapon. Investigators say that's when the deputy shot and killed the suspect.

Genesee County Undersheriff Greg Walker says there were seven people inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting. No one inside the restaurant was hurt.

The names of the suspect and deputy have not yet been identified.

The shooting remains under investigation.

One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting in the town of Pembroke in Genesee County.

Genesee County Undersheriff says law enforcement responded to the Log Cabin Restaurant on Gilmore Road for a report of shots being fired inside and outside the restaurant around 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say a deputy was responding to the call of shots fired when the person pointed his gun at the deputy.

The deputy then shot and killed the person.

Undersheriff Greg Walker says there were seven people inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting. None of them were hurt.
