Veterans, military members and their families are urged to take an annual survey aimed at improving government policies. The Blue Star Families annual Military Family Lifestyle Survey is done in collaboration with Syracuse University’s Institute for Veteran and Military Families. The largest survey of its kind, it is used by policy makers in Washington, D.C. and across the country to learn about and meet the most pressing needs of military families.
Last year, the survey attracted more than 7,800 respondents that gave a “snapshot of the issues facing military family life,” according to the Blue Star Families organization. Responses were voiced “at Congressional hearings and meetings with policy makers and with community leaders who want to better serve the military and veteran communities,” according to organizers of the online survey that has been done annually since 2009.
