Residents at Woodcrest Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Henrietta, took matters into their own hands and made May flowers.
They’ve been shaking the winter doldrums with a trip to see butterflies at the Strong National Museum of Play, by decorating with spring-themed crafts and tuning into a live view of the Cornell bird camera.
“The residents and I have decided that if it’s not going to look and feel like spring outside, we will do everything we can to make it spring inside,” said Activities Director Lindsay Lown.
The television in the activities room is tuned to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Bird Cam and various butterfly gardens and nearly every room is decked out in floral bouquets or homemade crafts — from cherry blossom trees and vintage Burpee trays to bright flower garlands and realistic looking 3-D paper flowers.
