Senior Living: Where to Start?: 2 to 3 p.m. on May 3. To celebrate May as Older Americans Month, join Rebecca Jaffarian, community relations coordinator at Greece Legacy, for tips on what to look for when considering senior living, independent living and the continuum of care; levels of care: assisted, enhanced and memory care for a loved one. Teen Tuesdays: 2:30 to 4 p.m. on May 8, 15, 22 and 29. Held every Tuesday when school is in session. Meet up with friends after school to enjoy free activities and snacks. Beginning Excel: 7 to 8:30 p.m. on May 7. This hands-on class will introduce some of the basic features of Microsoft’s popular spreadsheet program. Registration is required.
Springtime Desserts with the Storybook Cook: 7 to 8:30 p.m. on May 10. The library will welcome Liz Bauld, The Storybook Cook. Bauld has created a delightful cooking program that focuses on desserts for springtime; think light, fresh and tasty. As usual, participants will be given samples of each recipe prepared. Registration is required.
Springtime Music Concert with Roc City Ringers: 7 o 8 p.m. on May 14. Join the Roc City Ringers, a community handbell ensemble, for a lovely springtime concert offering a wide range of music, from movie themes to pop tunes, to “handbell classics,” and sacred music. Registration is required.
Intermediate Excel: 7 to 8:30 p.m. on May 14. This hands-on class will show participants how to use simple formulas, freeze panes, add headers and footers and use autofill to improve a spreadsheet. Registration is required.
Social Media as a Job Search and Personal Branding Tool with Arthur Catalanello: 7 to 8:30 p.m. on May 16. Arthur Catalanello, owner of Arthur Catalanello Consulting and social media director for the August group, returns with an updated presentation on how to use social media as a job search tool. This overview will detail the roles of LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook in today’s job search environment, defining a personal brand and tips on how to maximize their effectiveness. Attendees are encouraged to have some prior social media experience. Registration is required.
