Monroe County Medical Society welcomed the officers for 2018-19 at its 197th annual meeting.
Surinder Devgun was elected president for 2018-19. He joined Rochester Gastroenterology Associates as a private practice physician in 2005, and is an attending gastroenterologist at Unity and Rochester General hospitals of Rochester Regional Health. Devgun volunteers as teaching faculty at Unity Health System’s Medicine Residency program, and authored abstracts and posters with his residents. He joined MCMS in 2005.
Executive committee members are Lisa Smith, president-elect, internist/pediatrician at Ridgewood Med-Peds; Edith Grannum, secretary, family practice physician at The Family Medicine Practice of Edith Grannum; Susan Danahy, treasurer, diagnostic radiologist at Borg and Ide Imaging; J. Chad Teeters, member at large, executive medical director of Accountable Health Partners and chief of cardiology at Highland Hospital; Balazs Zsenits, member at large, chief medical information officer at Rochester Regional Health; and Peter Ronchetti, immediate past president, hand surgeon at Hand Surgery Associates.
The 2018-19 board of censors includes Wade Hedegard, Shylasree Krishnan, Christine Stewart, Jerry Svoboda, Matthew Witmer and Rachael Wojtovich.
The 2018-19 delegates to the Medical Society of the State of New York are Ahmed Ghazi, Allison Giordano, Tarun Kothari and Raymond Lanzafame.
Hospital representatives for 2018-19 are James Haley, Unity; Jennifer Muniak, Highland; Robert Kerper, Strong Memorial; and Derek tenHoopen, Rochester General.
