The mother of Trevyan Rowe has taken steps to sue the City of Rochester, the Rochester City School District, and Monroe County.

The attorney for Rowe's mother says local officials were served legal papers Wednesday.

The claim states the district was negligent and failed to monitor the safety and attendance of the 14-year-old student.

District leaders say at least three teachers at his school marked him present for class the day he went missing.

Trevyan, who had autism, wandered away from School 12 in March.

His body was found three days later in the Genesee River.

The City of Rochester, RCSD, and Monroe County have yet to respond to the pending lawsuit.
