Discover Martha’s Magic: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 23. Discover the story of Martha Matilda Harper — inventor, immigrant and entrepreneur — and her success building a hair care franchise. Meet authors Jane Plitt and Sally Valentine. Enter the longest-hair contest and learn how to keep hair healthy, get hands-on creating beauty products and logos and share ideas for businesses.
Orchestra in the Pines: 1 to 5 p.m. on June 23, Cumming Nature Center, 6472 Gulick Road, Naples. Revel in nature’s acoustics, enjoy refreshments and sway with the majestic red pines as the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra performs a selection of pops and light classical music. Live Science Shows: 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and school breaks. Enjoy live science shows on pressure, energy, hydrogen, light, color, temperature and physics.
Saturday Night Laser Shows: 8:15 and 9:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Strasenburgh Planetarium, 657 East Ave., Rochester. View lasers in bright and intense colors accompanied by music. $6-$7.
