The Oswego County Sheriff's Office was nearby and able to assist and rescue the five boys onboard the boat at the time.

McQuaid Jesuit High School students are safe after their boat began to sink during their 'Row for Hope' for Camp Good Days and Special Times.

The team was in the midst of their 27-mile open crossing of Oneida Lake Tuesday morning when the waves picked up and the boat began to take on water.

The Oswego County Sheriff's Office was nearby and able to assist and rescue the five boys onboard the boat at the time.

The boat was able to be saved and the boys are expected to continue their trip, according to a parent of a student on the team.
