Six Oak Hill ladies, on June 24, joined together to dress up the Shepherd Home, a hospice, located on the corner of Whalen Road and Five Mile Line in Penfield.
The home depends on volunteers to help out in many areas, and the women decided that the gardens needed some attention.
Sue Palomaki, the owner and director of Lucas Greenhouses in Fairport, donated 15 flats of annuals for the second year in a row. The Shepherd Home was appreciative of her generosity and thrilled with the beauty the flowers added to the property, specifically the entrance area.
In spite of rain, the volunteer gardeners weeded, trimmed, split perennials and planted the annuals. Compliments were received as visitors arrived at the home.
Anne Schuler, whose father lived his last weeks at the home, organized the group of Oak Hillers, which included Linda Barbato, Mary Ann Parker, Joyce Ferris Susan Calcagno and Susan Murray.
