Registration is open and ongoing for “Libraries Rock!,” the 2018 summer reading program for kids in grades 6 and younger at Parma Public Library, 7 West Ave., Hilton.
Reading logs and program rules are available during library hours. Children can earn small prizes throughout the summer for reading, and weekly raffles take place for larger prizes. Craft programs are scheduled throughout the summer.
Friends of the Parma Public Library is sponsoring six free, family Visiting Artists programs: “15 Miles on the Erie Canal,” an interactive folk operetta with Bells & Motley, at 1 p.m. on July 11; African Drumming at 1 p.m. on July 18; Hula Hoopstars at 1 p.m. on July 23; American Girls Rock at 1 p.m. on July 30; The Checkers Show at 1 p.m. on Aug. 8; and Wildlife Rockstars at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 13.
The End of Summer Reading Cookie and Prizes Party is set for 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 13.
Storytime for all ages continues year-round from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesdays-Thursdays, as well as Baby Storytime for ages 18 months and younger from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays.
