The Monroe County Sheriff's Office say he unlawfully sold a rifle.
A Penfield pawn shop owner has been arrested after the Monroe County Sheriff's Office say he unlawfully sold a rifle.
The owner of Penfield Jewelry and Coin Exchange, Frank Palma, purchased a Winchester Model 94, Buffalo Bill Commemorative 30-30 rifle without first doing a criminal background check done by a licensed dealer.
The 45-year-old would then sell the rifle while also failing to do a background check on the purchaser according to the Sheriff's Office.
Palma is charged with two counts of unlawful private sale of a rifle and three citations for violations of the Monroe County Secondhand Dealer law.
The rifle has since been recovered by law officials.
Palma was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Penfield Town Court on July 17.
