March of Dimes Rochester is preparing to honor nurses who exemplify an extraordinary level of patient care, compassion and customer service. Nominations for the 2018 Rochester Nurse of the Year Awards are open through July 20.
Exceptional nurses employed in the Rochester area are eligible. A selection committee comprised of health care professionals will review the confidential nomination forms and announce the award finalists this fall. After a blinded review process, 20 nurses will be honored at an awards gala on Nov. 12 at Hyatt Regency Rochester.
Whether serving as health care provider, educator, researcher and/or adviser, nurses play a critical role in advancing March of Dimes’ mission to fight for the health of every mom and baby. The Nurse of the Year initiative supports this mission while recognizing exceptional nurses throughout the area and celebrating the profession.
Nomination forms are available online. Nurses can be nominated in 20 categories: advanced practice, behavioral health, pediatric emergency/pediatric critical care/pediatric emergency transport services, charge nurse/lead nurse/nurse leader, critical care, education, emergency, general medical/surgical (inpatient), hospice, home health and palliative care, infection prevention and occupational health, long-term acute care/long-term/rehab, nursing administration, general pediatric, ambulatory care and outpatient, quality and risk management, rising star, student nurse, surgical services, women’s health and oncology.
