Local author Patti Unvericht will release her second book, “Hidden History of the Finger Lakes,” on July 16.
The Finger Lakes region has a history of compelling characters, disasters and mysteries, including daredevil Sam Patch, the nation’s first Memorial Day celebration and ship wrecks on Seneca Lake.
Unvericht will appear at The Dog Eared Book, 208 E. Main St., Palmyra, at 7 p.m. on July 20; Historic Palmyra, 132 Market St., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 11; and Yates County History Center, 107 Chapel St., Penn Yan, at 6 p.m. on Sept. 20.
She published her first book, “Ghosts and Hauntings of the Finger Lakes,” in 2012.
