Musicians from Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra and Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will perform a free Summer Pops concert at 3 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Hochstein Performance Hall, 50 N. Plymouth Ave., Rochester.
The program features music from Broadway musicals, movies and operas, including Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma,” “E.T.,” “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” and Rossini’s “Barber of Seville.”
Paul Shewan conducts the joint orchestra, with trumpet soloist Herb Smith on “I Can’t Get Started” by Vernon Duke and Ira Gershwin. Smith and Shewan will perform Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Trumpets.
