Western New York native Erin Dorney will stop at Writers and Books, 740 University Ave., Rochester, for a reading of “I Am Not Famous Anymore” at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 24.
“I Am Not Famous Anymore” is a collection of erasure poems sourced from media interviews with actor Shia LaBeouf. Erasure is a form of poetry created by erasing words from an existing text and framing the result on the page as a poem.
Dorney will teach “Erasure Poetry” from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 25. Attendees will learn how to find sources for poems, work with the format and publish the pieces. Visit wab.org for information.
