Local students expand advanced manufacturing skills
Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, Finger Lakes Advanced Manufacturers' Enterprises and Monroe Community College recently partnered to provide students in grades 8-10 the opportunity to experience advanced manufacturing skills and earn college credit.
Students in the Summer Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering program toured Badge Machine, Global Packaging Systems, G.W. Lisk, Mini Tech, Progressive Machine and Design, Optimax Systems Inc. and Rando Machine Corp.
Participating students were Alex Harrison, of Bloomfield; Evan Bliss, of Canandaigua; Anthony Billings and Alex Kuelling, of Marion; Stephen Hughes, of Newark; Zachary DeRoo and Helen Flint, of North Rose-Wolcott; Garrett Ross, of Palmyra-Macedon; Cameron Hickey and Garrett Steinruck, of Seneca Falls; Roman Wright, of Victor; Thomas Caine and Noah Means, of Wayne; and Jacob Kuhl and Christina Zimmerman, of Williamson. Instructors were Dan Bradley, Dan Gersbach, Jason Johnston and Kelly Paladino.
