Trinity Episcopal Church, 3450 W. Ridge Road, Rochester, recently placed a Little Free Library stocked with children’s books in the playground next to its main parking lot.
A Little Free Library is a free book exchange based on “take a book, return a book.” The libraries come in various shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Trinity’s library is mounted on a pole in the southeast corner of the playground.
Anyone can contribute or take books. Readers are not required to leave a book, but are encouraged to help keep the library filled with choices for the entire neighborhood.
Little Free Library book exchanges function on the honor system; everyone contributes to ensure there are always quality books inside.
Visitors can access the church parking lot from North Avenue.
