A pair of former Rochester residents have plead guilty to defrauding a local manufacturing company.

The District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday that Kana Chalen Hill and Aaron James Dempsey plead guilty to wire fraud.

Hill and Dempsey defrauded Nordon Inc., a plastic manufacturing company in the Rochester area.

Hill and Dempsey worked for the company between 2014 and 2017.

As a payroll specialist, Hill manually triggered Nordon to issue inflated and fraudulent paychecks to herself, co-defendant Dempsey and others.

Hill also used the personal identifying information of former Nordon employees in the names of those employees without their knowledge or consent. The paychecks were deposited into bank accounts owned by Hill and Dempsey.

The charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 9, 2019.
