Victor Senior High School DECA announced its 2018-2019 leadership team.
This year’s officers are Sydney Charleton and Alex Crane, co-presidents; Matt Leonardo, vice president; Chloe Whittier, secretary; Angeline Galante and Jordan Gravino, fundraising directors; Akul Gupta, treasurer; Taylor Hersh and Rachel Link, community service directors; Nathan Black, public relations director; and Lukas Miller and Jack Spiegelhoff, social media directors.
The 2018-19 DECA team started off with recruitment. This year’s theme is “Ready For It” and Victor High School has taken this to heart. Members selected their competitive events at the start of October, and started their weekly practices to prepare for regionals, state and nationals.
Fundraising efforts for regionals will include Otis Spunkmeyer sales and planned activities.
“The club is ready to make even more strides toward reaching its maximum potential,” Leonardo said. “Last year we saw tremendous success, yet we are continuously looking for ways to improve as an organization. Speaking on behalf of the entire club, we are ready for another successful DECA year.”
This year, Victor DECA has an enrollment of 103. The club always is looking for business mentors, sponsors and guest speakers. Contact advisers Mike Cutaia or Sue Utz, or visit victordeca.weebly.com for information.
