A field of 103 golfers played at Irondequoit Country Club in Rochester for the Rochester District Golf Association’s final Play Day event of the 2018 season.
RDGA Play Days offer casual competition for players of all abilities, with winners recognized in three handicap divisions. At Irondequoit, women played from the gold tees at par-74 (5,354 yards), while men played at par-72 from the white tees (5,976 yards) and blue tees (6,415 yards).
Lance Lydon won the overall men’s blue tee gross score with a 77. Kevin Watters won the overall men’s blue tee net score with a net 69.
Winning the men’s white tee gross score was Dan Overbeck, who posted a score of 77. Binh Tran won the men’s white tee net score with a net score of 63.
Deb Wood won the overall women’s gold tee gross score with an 82. Winning the women’s gold tee net score was Karen Lejman, who posted a net score of 76.
The following golfers were the top-five finishers of their handicap divisions, based on net score.
Blue tees: Watters, 69; Lydon, 72; Bill Palma, 73; Craig Watters, 75; and James Elmo, 75.
Gold tees: Wood, 75; Lejman, 76; Karen Berndt, 77; and Kathleen Murphy and Karen Remerschied, 79.
White tees: Tran, 63; Paul Dwyer, 67; Dick Ertel, 68; and Frank Rock, Daniel Overbeck and Russell Carson, 69.
