A Geneva teenager is being held at the Ontario County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond on charges that he forcibly raped and assaulted a woman.

GENEVA — On Tuesday a Geneva teenager was charged with the forcible rape and assault of a woman.

The Geneva Police Department announced the arrest of Nigel Tolbert, 18, for rape in the first degree, a class B felony. Tolbert is being held at the Ontario County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.

According to Lieutenant Matt Valenti of the Geneva Police Department, the alleged victim is a female over the age of 18 years. She was taken to the hospital after the alleged attack but is expected to survive.

If found guilty, Tolbert faces a potential sentence is 5-25 years in prison.
